This looks interesting. I would not what you would call a huge environmentalist by any means, but I remember the very first time I ever preached in a church was about the environment and being stewards of the earth. I was 12. I remember feeling like it was a cop-out topic, that it was for babies, because I thought it had no deep, biblical meaning. But now, all these years later – it holds so much weight in society, it’s a very relevant and important thing to consider.

    hey, dionne,
i really appreciate your taking the time to respond to my thoughts. i have actually never heard a sermon on creation stewardship – at which church did you hear that?

i think that many christians can take it too far to either side of the spectrum, but i don’t believe anyone can get around the fact that we supposed to take care of what we have been given.

Oh I haven’t heard it being preached – it was something that I preached. We used to go to a small church of about 50 people, and when I turned 12, they asked me to preach about something important to me. I picked the topic of creation and stewardship, but after planning the sermon, I felt like it was a ‘baby’ topic, something easy. But now I don’t 🙂
